Our Journey
Golden Peacock South Indian Restaurant was born from a lifelong love of South Indian cuisine and a desire to bring its authentic, soulful flavors to the communities of Calmar and Leduc County in Alberta. With roots in the culinary heartland of South India, we grew up surrounded by the aromas of freshly ground spices, sizzling dosas on cast iron griddles, and slow-simmered Chettinad curries. The name "Golden Peacock" reflects the beauty and vibrancy of South Indian culture — the peacock being a revered symbol of grace and colour, much like the rich, colourful spread of dishes that come out of the South Indian kitchen.

Our Menu
Our diverse menu features an extensive selection of South Indian favourites. Dosa lovers will find over a dozen varieties — from the classic Masala Dosa to the bold Mysore Masala Dosa and unique Andhra Pesarattu. Our curries are a standout, particularly the fiery Chicken Chettinad and rich Varutharacha Fish Curry, both prepared with traditional spice blends. The Biryani section offers Hyderabadi-style preparations in vegetarian, chicken, goat, fish, and shrimp. Traditional items like Idli, Pongal, and Filter Coffee complete an authentic South Indian dining experience.
